Biodiversity monitoring is helping us to understand the ecosystems, habitats and animal movements, prioritise, monitor our impact, boost motivation, and inspire people.
We install trail cameras that are yielding diverse videos and photos. We have also tested out bioacoustics with Natural State. We are exploring with SANBI and Greyton Conservation Society how local clearing could support plant populations. Our teams, volunteers and CREW members have added hundreds of observations to iNaturalist in our clearing areas.
We hope our trials will also yield useful insights for the wider system, guide corridor development, and help us to be more prepared for the systematic monitoring required for future biodiversity funding models.
